I started my journey as a photojournalist in the United States Marine Corps. Serving six years as a combat photographer, I traveled the world capturing images of the aptly nicknamed “Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children.” Alongside my fellow Marines, I trained to the same standards and was afforded access to see the sights few ever get to see.
I’m a Michigan based photographer currently pursuing a degree in journalism from Michigan State University. With a background of public service, I believe in upholding the tenets of journalism: providing accurate and complete information to the public. I have experience producing multimedia projects, still photography and informative writing.
While at Michigan State, I have expanded my skills while serving as a staff photographer and later the multimedia editor at The State News and also as a contract photographer for Imagn Images, USA Today’s photo wire service. I possess the confidence and ability to operate independently in a fast-paced industry, but I’m always on the hunt to push my own boundaries.
